Janey was born on May 1st, 1935, in Augusta, GA to George Ralph and Clifford Overstreet McCormick. She attended the University of Alabama and Shorter College. She was retired from Office Depot and worked many years as a caregiver. She loved to play and watch tennis. Her love of animals was passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Janey is survived by a son, Gary Hodges; sister, Judith Bowling (Danny); grandson, Dr. Kevin Neal (Adrienne); niece, Robin Douglas (Kirk); nephew, Adam Bowling (Cathy); several great nieces and nephews; and special friend Celeste McDonough. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug Murray; daughter, Lisa Hodges Neal; sister, Cliff Ellen Reynolds; and a beloved pet, Daisy.
Services will be private. Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, GA is in charge of arrangements.
