On Friday, June 6th of 2025 Janice Christine Sellers “Jan” Chatham was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will now watch over her family here on earth and prepare a place in Heaven for her loved ones. Jan was born on September 29, 1941 in Coffee County, Alabama. She was one of six children born to Tessie Kyser Sellers and Walter James Sellers.
Jan was the loving wife of Marvin Ray Chatham. She was Christian by faith and lived her life by the Word of God, these values were shown in her care, compassion, and loving relationship she had with all who knew and loved her. Jan had the love of the universe and she shared that love with everyone. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother whose presence here with us will be greatly missed, but we know her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was one that shows us her love will guide us home as well. Jan was one who always showed her love for her family through her actions. She was always giving and sharing of her time where needed. Jan was greatly loved beyond measure.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband, Marvin Ray Chatham; her children: Lynn Smith, James Yates, and Melissa Powell; her siblings: Fredda Ward, Glenda Camper, and Eudson Sellers; her grandchildren: Candice, Alison, Heidi, Crystal, Christopher, Michael David, Avory, Jacob, and Justin; her 21 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Woodell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Tessie and Walter Sellers; her siblings: Gaynell Jackson and Terry Sellers; her son, Calvin Chatham; her grandchildren: Brittany and Kimberly; and one great grandchild.
