Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, August 9, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Ken Savage officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Self was born April 24, 1943 in Edison, GA to the late Tollie Frank and Kathleen Hatcher Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of Beallwood Church of God. We will remember her love of flowers and her gift of being able to make any plant or flower grow. She will also be remembered for her unselfish love for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Self was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Lee Self.

Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Robert Self of Columbus, GA; six children, Robert Earl Self of Warwick, GA, Wanda Faye Pritchett of Enterprise, AL, William Alex Self, Sr. of Columbus, GA, James Allen Windon of Fayettville, GA, Jay E. Windon of Salem, AL, Terina Lynn Berni of Columbus, GA, and Natasha Lynn Mercer of Virginia Beach, VA; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; five brothers, and three sisters.
