SMSgt (USAF Ret) Jimmie R. Faulkner, Sr., age 81, resident of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House. Cryptside services are scheduled at Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum, Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia on Saturday, June 29, 2019, 2 p.m. with Chaplain P.J. Wright officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum.
Mr. Faulkner, son of the late James Loyd Faulkner and Mattie Mae Wilson Faulkner, was born December 15, 1937 in Columbus. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he honorably served his country for over 23 years. Mr. Faulkner was regarded as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, enjoyed watching FOX News, and shopping on-line. However, most of all he loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and the visits he received, both in person and face time using his smart phone. Mr. Faulkner could fix anything and was the strength of the family. He always took care of his family, and demonstrated selfless love as a wonderful caregiver to his wife.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Mae Robbins; a brother, J.C Faulkner; a granddaughter, Tiffany Jo Stokes. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Carolyn "Carol" Davis Faulkner of Columbus, Georgia; one son, Jimmie (girlfriend, Andrea) Faulkner, Jr. of Columbus; two daughters, Pam (David) Stokes, Debbie Standridge, both of Columbus; two granddaughters, Nicole (Ben) Hunt, Chelsey (Larry) Carroll; two grandsons, Brett Faulkner (girlfriend, Hailey) and David (Nicole) Stokes, Jr.; three great-grandsons, Parker Hunt, David Stokes, and Matthew Stokes; many other relatives and friends.
