

Jay Sewell passed from this life to the next in the early morning hours of October 2nd, at the Columbus Hospice House. He passed peacefully in his sleep after spending his last days surrounded by cherished family and friends.
Jay was loved by many. He would give you the shirt off his back. He loved cooking and was known for his BBQ all over town. He worked for many years in the HVAC community. Jay was an active member of his church, Gentian Baptist.
The most important thing in life to him was his children and grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Fuller and father, Jimmy Sewell Sr. He is survived by his children Amanda and husband Kyle, Tashina and husband Jamus, Kayla and Jayson; grandchildren Braeden, Trista, Neenah, Arabella, Ashlyn and Taryn; brothers Tim and Scrapper, sisters Dee, Ginger, Selina and Stacey; step-mother Mildred Sewell, step-father Malcolm Fuller and best friends Amanda and Regina. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, October 6, 2017, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A celebration of Jay’s life will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Gentian Baptist Church, 3853 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend David Hardwick officiating.
