

Jo Ann C. Wall, 88, of Columbus, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House. A Memorial Service will be held in the Sanctuary of The First Baptist Church on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00am with Dr. James Elder Jr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00am in the Sanctuary prior to the service. Lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the service. A private entombment will take place at Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Wall was born August 18, 1928 in Plant City, Florida, daughter of the late Porter W. Crowder and Susan Josephine Wade Crowder. She lived in Columbus since 1945 and was a member of First Baptist Church, member of the choir, and Christ’s Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wall worked for Biggers, Scarbrough, Neal, Chisp and Clark for 22 years. She later became Office Manager for Russell Wall Interiors. Mrs. Wall studied voice and was a soloist for many churches, choirs, weddings, etc. She was a member of Civic Chorale and the original Springer Charter Opera House as a performer. Mrs. Wall was a former charter president of Women in Construction. She was a very smart lady and a master of the computer.
Survivors include her husband, Russell J. Wall; two sisters, Emogene C. Bazemere of Alpharetta, GA., Jemmay C. McLure, of Athens, GA.; and several nieces and nephews.
I praise God for the 47 grand years we had together.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice or to the Music Fund of First Baptist Church.
