John Leon Moss, 54, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on May 6, 2026. A Visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, on June 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm, the Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM.
John was born on November 27, 1971, in Orlando, Florida to Robert E. Moss and Frances E. Moss. John was a devoted Christian and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. His faith guided the way he lived his life, and he never missed an opportunity to help someone in need. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, genuine smile, and intentional spirit.
John graduated from Shaw High School in 1990. He worked as an electrical engineer for many years. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things in life. He loved cooking, singing, fishing, and spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys came from watching his nieces and nephews play softball and baseball. John deeply loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Moss; his mother, Frances E. Moss; and his brother, Jimmy Moss.
He is survived by his brother, Robert B. Moss (Krystal); his sister, Angela M. Spivey; his nephews, Bryce Moss, Bradley Moss (Sharon), Gavin Moss, Taylor Tindell, and Aiden Moss; his nieces, Kaitlyn Moss, Sara Tindell, Mallory Tindell, Rachel Tindell (Paul), and Samantha Massey (Calbe); as well as many other friends and family members.
