
Johnie was born July 27, 1949 in McRae, GA, son of the late Addie Bass and Johnie Daugherty, Sr. He graduated from Jordan High School and was a fanatic Georgia football fan. Johnie was co-owner of West Georgia Plumbing Supply. Many friendships were made throughout his years in the plumbing supply business. He was a member of Central Christian Church, the Harley Owners Group and the Southern Cruisers.
Johnie is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Alice Houchin Daugherty, his daughter, Stephanie Woods and her husband, Harold, his grandson, Hal Woods, his sister, Bobbie Jean Buckelew and her husband, Donald, his mother in law, Tsuyako “Mrs. T” Houchin, his cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends who he considered family as well.
A graveside service to celebrate Johnie’s life will be held Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Steve Womack and Harold Woods, Jr., officiating. In honor of Johnie, the family requests that you dress casual and if your spirit moves you, please wear your favorite Georgia Bulldog attire. Johnie wouldn’t have it any other way.
