Johnny William Hartin

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery. Family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnny was born on June 16, 1935 in Union Town, Alabama to the late Bertha F. Hartin and Thomas S. Hartin. He attended Baker High School, Mr. Johnny went to work to help his family. He was the owner of Hartin Roofing, the Columbus area knows him as one of the traditional, old school roofers, if your roof was done by Hartin Roofing, you knew it wasn’t going to leak. Mr. Johnny built his business on pride and honor. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his sons. Mr. Johnny was a strong, dependable man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by other than his parents, his wife, Nancy E. Hartin; son, Michael William Hartin; grandsons, Christopher Micheal Hartin and Nicholas James Hartin.

He is survived by his children: Danny L. (Mitzi D.) Hartin, Katherine M. (Brooke D.) Russell, and David W. Hartin; grandchildren: Shaun E. (Ann E.) Roberts, Danny L. Hartin II, Joshua Hartin, Alyssa (Thomas) Arnold, Nichole “Nikki” Hartin, and Braily Hartin; great grandchildren: Hannah M. Roberts, Shelby L. Roberts, Austin W. Roberts, Maddox L. Hartin, Jaydon L. Hartin, Julian B. Hartin, Joshua B. Hartin, Noah J. Hartin, Nicholas A. Pierce, McCullough A. Arnold, and Blakely M. Arnold; sisters, Eloise Smith and Wanda Boothe; brothers, Jerry Byrd and Randy Byrd; and numerous other relatives and friends.
