Julia Reynolds Weekes, 84 of Columbus, Georgia formerly of Harris County, Georgia passed away on May 22, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Georgia on December 10, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Casey Odell Davis Reynolds and William Everette Reynolds.
Julia was a Jordan Vocational High School graduate. She was married to William F. Weekes for 60 years. Julia was very active in her community when she lived in Harris County. She was a founding member of the Harris County Library and former officer and member of Cataula Women’s Club. Julia was an avid reader; she also loved flowers and music. She retired as office manager of Weekes Financial Services were she worked with her husband for many years. Julia was Christian by faith and was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Columbus for 40 plus years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Julia will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
She is survived by her daughters: Katherine Weekes, Karen Weekes (Joe Benhabib), and Karla Smolen (Mark); and family friend Penny Bowie. Julia was preceded in death by other than her parents, Casey and William Reynolds, her husband William F. Weekes.
Visitation for Julia will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Wildwood Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Andy Ginn officiating. A private burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery. Flowers are accepted, if one chooses to make memorial donations Julia’s family requests they be made to Valley Rescue Mission, P.O.
