June Hamilton, 92, of Pine Mountain, GA passed Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel in the Edgewood Hall, with Pastor Mickey Adams officiating with private interment at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service; beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jayson Childs, John Childs, Jon Buford, Steve Dickson, Jeff Young, and Rob Ward.
Mrs. Hamilton was born June 30, 1926 in Columbus, GA, the daughter of Elmer Lee and Mattie Lou Smith. She married Edwin E. Childs and spent 30 plus wonderful years with him before his passing. She would go on to meet her second husband John R. Hamilton and they too would spend 30 plus amazing years together before he passed. She loved them both very much. Some things she enjoyed were hosting parties and interior decorating. June found much joy in owning and operating Country Cottage Gift Shop on Warm Springs Road. Her greatest accomplishment was being a loving mother grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and brothers Jere lee Smith and Billy Smith. Survivors include her two sons, Edwin Ronnie Childs (Jacque) and Dan Childs (Bonnie); three grandchildren, Jayson Childs, John Childs, and Julie Childs Buford; eight great grandchildren; one sister Joan Dickson and numerous other loving family and friends.
