She was born on December 9, 1925 to the late Mabel Pearce Andrews and Tom Andrews, Jr. Katharine was married to Rupert A. Triplitt. Katharine was a lifelong member of First Baptist and loved teaching the 7-year-old Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Ivy Garden Club of Columbus, The Gracious Ladies of Georgia and the Student's Club. She also worked with the Girl Scouts of America. Katharine loved being devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed the opportunity of caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Tom Andrews; her husband Rupert A. Triplitt; her sisters: Augusta Burrus, Isabel Triplitt, and Mabel Andrews.
Katharine leaves her loving memory and legacy to be cherished by her children: Tony (Barbara) Triplitt, Claire T. Lambdin, Tom (Diane) Triplitt, Katharine (John) Carter; nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Baker) Jordan, Andy (Lesley) Triplitt, Pearce (Jonathan) Butcher, Tracy (Jared) Alewine, Katie Carter, Will (Danielle) Carter, Andrea (Jay) Bridgeman, Mamie Lambdin, and Trip Carter; and ten great grandchildren.
We wish to thank her devoted team of caregivers, including May Woodson, Alicia Nesbitt, Faye Williams, Jean Allen, Carmen Baker Williams, Lia Long, Althea Browne and many others.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:00 pm in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating.
