

Kenneth Gordon Mosley, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, left this world unexpectedly and peacefully in Columbus, Georgia on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the age of 94. He is survived by his children, Michael and Pamela, their spouses, Mary Jo and Wayne, along with their loving families.
He was the fourth child of John and Lyda Mosley, and was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 15, 1924. He always lived life to the fullest, and excelled in every endeavor. He especially loved chess, fishing, hunting, flying and baseball.
During World War II, he served his country honorably and nobly in the United States Army and took part in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy, he endured the Siege of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, and later received a treasured letter of gratitude from the King of Norway. Ken's amphibious jeep was the first to land on the beach to liberate Norway.
His love of flying led him to Embry-Riddle Aeronautic University, where he was certified as an Airframe and Powerplant Specialist, and he later took charge of the FAA Flight Service Station during his years with Flight Incorporated at Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg, FL. He qualified to fly single and multi-engine aircraft, helicopters, and jets. After several years there, he assumed the position of Chief Aviation Mechanic with Proctor and Gamble. Ken verified safe performance during personal test flight of all fleet aircraft before returning them to normal operation. During his years there, he received an award of excellence for his work with aviation from the Governor of the State of Florida. He retired after 20 years of service with P&G.
