Larry was born in Columbus, GA on June 7, 1944, in Columbus, GA, son of the late Sam and Helen Love. Larry was a member of Temple Israel and Shearith Israel Synagogue. He taught Sunday school and was a member of the Rotary Club. He was proud to play golf with his group of buddies at Green Island, The Hackers.
He owned Herbs Pawn shop which was The Jewelry store of Columbus. He sold out to Cash America when he was 40 with the intention of retiring but became bored quickly and re-opened as Diamond Exchange.
Columbus has lost a piece of its soul. If you needed a model for a real gentleman, and a friend to all who knew him, you need to look no further than Larry Love.
Everyone remembers Larry for his smile. No matter how bad he felt or how bad his day was going he had a smile for everyone.
Larry loved to travel and loved food. But more than anything he loved his family, especially his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, David Love.
Survivors include his fiancé, Denise Taylor; two daughters: Lisa Love & Jade Love; stepdaughter, Stephanie Taylor; grandchildren, Charlotte Keith & Jaiden Howard; nephew, Ricky Love.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in Riverdale Cemetery with Rabbi Larry Schlesinger officiating.
