

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Columbus, GA with Dr. James Elder officiating. The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elaine Hammond Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Bush lived in Columbus for 67 years and was an active member of First Baptist Church, member of Elaine Hammond Sunday School Class, and Senior Choir. Lillian volunteered for 28 years at St. Francis Auxiliary, and the Medical Center Auxiliary. Past President and Treasury of the Columbus Woman’s Club, member of the Wynn House, President of Daffodil Garden Club, member of Mohina Woods Garden Club, Elwood Moyer Executive Club and Vice President and Treasury of Bush Consultant Company. She loved decorating her home, working in her flower gardens and playing bridge with her friends. She loved and enjoyed her family.
Mrs. Bush was born December 7, 1921 in Howard GA, daughter of the late Ezra Suggs Hickman and Emma Lou Taylor Hickman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heyward Franklin Bush; two sisters: Ruth Holloway, Thomaston, GA and Marie Gilbert, Fresno, CA.
She is survived by one sister, Francis Hammock, Thomaston, GA; her four children: Ronnie H. Bush (Kathy) Columbus, GA; Wrenda Bush Crain (Ken) Atlanta, GA; Jimmy M. Bush (Laura) Canton, GA; Debbie Bush Caffey (Milton). Nine Grandchildren who called her GiGi: Shannon Bush Whittington (Charlie) Columbus, GA; Amber Bush Bannister (Harry) Cataula, GA; Elliott Crain (Melissa) Smyrna, GA; Tyler Crain (Kari) Atlanta, GA; Michael Woodruff (Dana) Atlanta, GA; Mary Elizabeth Bush, Canton, GA; Caleb Bush, Canton, GA; Chance Caffey, Valdosta, GA; Chase Caffey, (Elayne) Eastman, GA. Mrs. Bush is also survived by seven Great Grandchildren: Tanner and Walker Whittington, Columbus, GA; Tripp and Beaux Bannister, Cataula, GA; Miles Woodruff, Atlanta, GA; Lauren Crain, Smyrna GA; Oliver Crain, Atlanta, GA; Nieces include Sandra Gifford, Columbus, GA; Vickie Harvelle, Lumpkin, GA; Betty Ruth Jones, Bobby White, Thomaston, GA, Elsie Tidwell, Albany, GA., Carol Bell, Smiths, Al., and nephew, Bill Bush, Jacksonville, Fl.
Her favorite Bible verse was Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Jesus Christ that strengthens me.”
