Linda Elaine Miller, 65, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM EST at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856. Family will gather with friends the night before from 5-7 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Linda was born on September 30, 1960, to Catherine and Wilbur Lay in Ft.Benning, Georgia. She attended and graduated from Baker High School in 1978 where she then went on to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Tom’s Foods and then as a Data Entry Specialist with Remitco until they closed. She met John, who she had been married to for 18 years. Linda is known for her resilience and for her strength. She was a great listener; amazing friend and loved her grandchildren beyond measure. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crafting and taking road trips when she was able to.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Lay and Catherine Lay. She is survived by her husband, John Miller; her children, Wesley Kroll (Brittney) and Stephanie Park (Brent); her grandchildren, Brent Park Jr., Kaylee Park, Alyssa Park, Emily Kroll, Adam Kroll, and Alex Kroll; her sister, JoAnn Patton (Mike); her brother, Cecil Lay (Angie); her nephews, John Patton and Jackson Lay; her nieces, Jessica Hall and Logan Lay and 4 great grandchildren.
