Margaret Elizabeth Hunnicutt

Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) Hunnicutt, 94, of Columbus Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with visitation at 2:00pm and service at 3:00pm.

Born on July 21, 1928 in Baker Hill, Alabama. She was the eldest daughter of 10 children of the late James Floyd Glover and Marie Price Glover. Betty married the love of her life, Thomas C. Hunnicutt on July 3, 1948 where they spent 64 years together. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church of Columbus, Georgia. She retired from Georgia Institute of Technology Civil Engineering Department after 19 years of service. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her family and was always there for anything they needed.

She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace in Heavens gates.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Marie Glover; husband, Thomas C. Hunnicutt; son, Thomas Wayne Hunnicutt; sisters, Peggy Fussell, Nancy Gaer; brothers, James (Junior) Glover, Robert Glover, Jim Glover, Wilson Glover, Price Glover, Bill Glover.

Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Hunnicutt Barton; daughter-in-law, Linda Hunnicutt; 5 grandchildren, Tamara Williams (Stan), Melissa Becker (Dave), Elizabeth Howard (Gabriel), Cindy Conner (Greg), Bryan Braswell (Amy); 10 great grandchildren, Alex Becker, Jacob Wolfe, Ashley Steiner (Cody), Monica Wolfe, Canton Conner, Hamilton Howard, Mitchell Conner, Olivia Braswell, Sophie Conner and Grant Howard; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members.
