Margie was born January 27, 1930 in Columbus, Georgia; the daughter of Joseph A. and Sibilla A. Drake.
Mrs. Spurlock retired from R.C. Cola after forty-two and a half years of faithful service. She served in many capacities with the company, including Executive Secretary, Consumer Affairs Manager, Packing Manager and others. She joined Cott Beverages as Regulatory Affairs Manager, retiring after six years.
Margie enjoyed telling jokes and always had a ready smile. She was a regular at the Friday night dance at the Gallops Center for many years before she became ill.
She was married for thirty-two years to Roy Addis Jr., the father of her son.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-one years, Calvin Spurlock; her son, Roy Addis III; her sisters, Elsie Matuska and Imogene Whitaker; and her brothers, George Drake and John Drake.
Left to treasure her memory is her grandson, Roy Addis IV (Teresa); her granddaughter, Christie Simpson (William); her great-grandchildren, Anna, James, Bailey, and Suna; as well as a special step-daughter, Angela Hinson (Bobby).
A Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2025 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM in the St. Elmo Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, Georgia 31907. There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday January 30, 2025 at 2:00PM at Parkhill Cemetery.
