A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery.
Maria was born December 1, 1925 in Eislingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany; the daughter of Fritz and Maria Fischer. Maria married Charles Byrd, they were married for 55 years, until his passing on July 1, 2011. Maria was an office clerk on Ft. Benning for 27 years. When she was younger she worked in a bank in Germany. Maria was a lady that enjoyed being with people but felt equally comfortable spending time alone which allowed her to read, paint and draw.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Byrd; her father Fritz Fischer and her beloved mother Maria Fischer.
