Maria Luisa Garcia Quinones, 83, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and if you knew her she reflected that love, Maria was a kind, gentle, caring, and nurturing lady.
Maria Luisa Garcia Quinones was born on December 21, 1934 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Pelegrin Garcia and Modesta Quinones. She was married to the late William Suarez in New York on August 8, 1952. Maria and William would later move their family to Puerto Rico. After William’s passing Maria moved to be close to her daughter, Nancy. Maria taught her children to be kind and care for one another. She loved cooking and baking for her family, Maria enjoyed watching telenovelas and playing her word search puzzles. She was a member of North Highland Assembly of God. Most importantly she was always there for her family, to love one another no matter what. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and especially loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband: William Suarez; Father: Pelegirn Garcia; Mother: Modesta Quinones; Brother: Benito Garcia: Sisters: Margarita Garcia and Alejandrina Garcia; and Great Granchild Marco Antonio Castro.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her Daughters: Sandra Suarez (Husband: Freddie Acevedo) and Nancy Vazquez (Spouse: Freddie Vazquez); Grandchildren: Freddie Vazquez (Spouse: Yaritza Vazquez), Paul Vazquez (Spouse: Sherley Vazquez), Kalysha Whittle (Spouse: Corey Whittle), Sancy Acevedo (Spouse: Jose L. Quintero), Alex Acevedo, Alan Acevedo; Great Grandchildren: Katherine Acevedo, Isaac Castro, Abigail Vazquez, Angelina Vazquez, William Vazquez, Yhadier Estremera, Ellison Whittle, Alexis Quintero, Luke Whittle and Uriah Vazquez.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia with Pastor Juan Rodriguez officiating. Family will visit with friends after the service.
