
Marie Cordero, age 64, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, died on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Sunday, May 5, 2013, 3 p.m. with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2-3 p.m.
Ms. Cordero was born December 19, 1948 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She was raised in a military family home, became a true entrepreneur, loved antiques, and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.
Ms. Cordero is survived by one daughter, Karen Dean and her husband Bryan of Salem, Alabama; her parents, Vidal and Hilda Cordero of Smiths Station, Alabama; one sister, Lee Sasser and her husband Eddie of Fayetteville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Chloe Dean of Marietta, Georgia, Jessica Motos and her husband John Jr., and Lauren Dye of Salem, Alabama; one great-grandson, John Motos III; one niece, Angela Sasser of Sandy Springs, Georgia; one nephew, Roland Sasser and his wife Shannon of Fayetteville, Georgia; other relatives and friends.
