Even though Marilyn lived far away from several of her grandchildren, she made it a priority to get to know them. She celebrated their successes, encouraged them and always had a smile and a hug.
As a little girl, she attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Hillsboro, WI. In her adult life she recommitted herself to Christ and was an active member of East Highland United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA. Working to feed the homeless, she made countless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She was a dedicated volunteer at her church thrift store and helped gather and sort baby items for moms in crisis.
Marilyn enjoyed playing cards and most of all she loved to win, especially when money was involved. She could be seen with a cup of coffee in her hand, always! She liked gardening, painting, making crafts, thrift shopping and gambling at the casino. Making meals and sharing meals, watching the ocean and admiring flowers were a few of her favorite things. She loved the beauty of her home state, Wisconsin. However, after moving to Tennessee and then to Georgia, she never missed the cold winters and snow.
