Martha Waters Herrington Ennis

Martha Jordan Ennis, age 56, resident of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Columbus Hospice. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 11 a.m. with Reverend David Howle and Reverend Andy Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery. Martha’s escorts will be Matthew Ennis, Jack B. Jordan, Brooks Jordan, Jim Lechner, Paul Therrien, Jeffrey Therrien, and Andy Hines. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 10-11 a.m.

Martha was born May 19, 1961. She was educated in Columbus schools, Mercer University, and graduated from Columbus State, and then taught in Muscogee County for over 27 years. Martha was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. W. Edward and Virginia J. Storey, and G.J. and Sarah P. Jordan. Martha is survived by her parents, Jack B. and Caroline S. Jordan; her son, Matthew; a brother, Brooks (Kim); a sister, Elizabeth (Jim); and nieces, Whittney Badour, Emmali Jordan, Carolina Sanders, Catherine Lechner, Sarah Lechner, and Kristen Waller.
