Aunt Sue was born on December 28, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Willie Pearl Shelley Wells and Haywood Wells. She met her future husband Benny Floyd and married him when she was seventeen. Even though Aunt Sue did not have children of her own she considered all of her nieces and nephews to be hers. She loved her family and they were her world. Aunt Sue was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed going to church and singing in the choir and serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Aunt Sue was retired from Columbus’ Consolidated Government and this allowed her to spend time with Cecilia and Stuart while their Dad, Stuart Lee worked to provide for his family. The bond between Aunt Sue and Cecilia was strong, they enjoyed going shopping together and just being with each other. Aunt Sue will be greatly missed because she was loved beyond the universe.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Pearl and Haywood Wells, her husband Benny Wallace Floyd, her Sister and brother in law Mary (Johnnie) Price, her Sister and brother in law Bobbie (Gene) Davis, her brother Billy Wells, and her niece Wende Wells Kidd.
Aunt Sue leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her step son, Shaun Floyd, step daughter, Donna Johnson, nephew David (Annette) Price, niece Donna (John) Gray, niece Susan (John) Farr, niece Cindy (Kerry) Rahn, nephew Stuart Lee Wells, nephew Larry Davis; and her great nieces and nephews: niece Amy Phelps, niece Lisa Huckestein, nephew John (Amanda) Farr, Jr., nephew Richard Farr, niece (who was like a daughter)-Cecilia Mills-Wells, nephew Stuart Mills-Wells, nephew Lane (Jennifer) Rahn, niece Shelley (K.C.) Gallimore, nephew Nate Rahn, nephew Wes (Cecilia) Gray, nephew Jim (Heather) Gray, nephew John (Jordan) Price, nephew Nate (Niki) Price, nephew Cameron (Kinsey) Price, niece Alexis Price, niece Christy Norris; and numerous other nieces and nephews along with great church family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Columbus, Georgia 31907. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5350 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, Georgia 31909 on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Thomas, Pastor Bud Rupel, and Pastor Johnny Mendoza officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
