Marvin "Lamar" Bryer

Mr. Marvin “Lamar” Bryer of Columbus, GA. The son of the late Sennie (Wardlaw) Bryer. On Monday, February 9, 2026, he was granted his angel wings. His final days were spent surrounded by family that he touched throughout his 72 years of life.

Marvin married his beloved wife, Eleanor Vryer, in 1973 and remained together until his death. Together they raised three girls, eight grandkids, and seven great grandkids.

Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, Sennie Bryer; his sisters, Rue Mae Bryer, Vera Lee (Bryer) Byrd, Shirley Jean Bryer, and Mae Joe Bryer; his brothers, Jessie Bryer, John Henry Bryer Sr. (Peter), Eddie Lee Bryer, Jeanatrus (Jean) Bryer, Harry Bryer Sr. (Blueboy), Earnest Bryer, and Alton Jones Bryer (Bud).

Marvin leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife, Eleanor Bryer; three daughters, Talisha (Dewey) Thomas, Shomiko (Kevin) Gibson, and Tamila (Clinton) Harris; eight grandkids, Kerry Senior, Quindarius (Destiny) Britt, Raven (Richard) Ford, Letavia Thomas, D’Quindre Britt, Sharmane Robinson Jr., Tamarion Bryer, and Tamia Bryer; seven great grandkids and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, located at 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907, on February 13, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will take place at the same venue on February 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
