Mary M. Bowen-Booth, age 78, resident of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville, Indiana. Memorial services are scheduled at the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Friday, September 20, 2019, 5 p.m. with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends at the service on Friday, September 20, 2019 until 7 p.m.
Mrs. Bowen-Booth, daughter of the late Leon Jenkins and Johnnie Ruth Sewell Jenkins, was born September 8, 1941 in Geneva County, Alabama. She was retired from hotel management, where she worked for over 40 years. Mrs. Bowen-Booth lived her life as a "risk taker" with always a good sense of humor. She loved to travel (stateside and overseas). She was a classy lady and loved be dressed up for special occasions. She loved animals (raised many dogs and cats), and spending time with her family, particularly with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a strong, hardworking, always focused woman.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Jenkins; a brother, Bobby Glen Jenkins; and a stepson, Jason Booth. Mrs. Bowen-Booth is survived by her husband, Jim Booth of Columbus; daughter, Michelle Bowen of Columbus; son, David Bowen and his wife, Becky of Griffin, Georgia; stepson, Brian Booth and his wife, Raechel of Bolivar, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sierra Bright and her husband Shay of Griffin, Georgia and Summer Bowen of Griffin, Georgia; four great-grandchildren, Lanier Hubbard, Aubree Bright, Kohn Hubbard, and Beckett Hubbard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
