

Mary Elsie Floyd, 77, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her Magnolia Manor. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Parkhill Cemetery, with Pastor. Paul Parker officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Mrs. Floyd was born December 18, 1940 in Columbus, GA, the daughter of the late Arthur and Laura Sanders. She was a homemaker by trait which in one of the most honorable and most selfless jobs anyone can have. She was married twice to two wonderful men Mr. Henry Floyd and William Allen, both preceding her in death. She loved being a wife, a mother but most of all a grandmother, she was what you would call a real animal person, and she enjoyed being around pets especially her Chihuahua. Another thing people who knew Mrs. Floyd would tell you about her is she was hotter than two dollar pistol and was stubborn as a mule. She was small in stature but had a huge personality and could make just about anyone laugh, and about a southern as the day is long.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, and a daughter Patricia (Angel) Revels. Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Johnson; a son, Michael Floyd; three grandchildren, Randi Strickland, Marion Bonnor, and Joshua Gibson; several greatgrandchildren and her long time nurse and friend Betty Harris. Arrangements are being entrusted to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA 31907.
