Mary Anna Howard Walker of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Mary Anna was the beloved wife of Leslie Jackson Walker, Jr. and the Best Bulldog Baxter. She was the daughter of the late Bev Henry Howard and Susan Coulter Howard.
Mary Anna was born December 31, 1981 in Columbus, Georgia. She grew up in Columbus and graduated as a “Lifer” from Brookstone School. She excelled in her academics and was a valued member of the cheer team and many other organizations. She attended Auburn University, where she was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She graduated with a degree in Criminology in 2005. She was dedicated in service to the Arthritis Foundation and active member of the disability services for Auburn University. She enjoyed going to the beach with her family and her husband, Leslie. She was a blessing from God and a beautiful example of courage and strength. She touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a loving wife, dear and faithful friend, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her sisters Carolyn Howard Cornett and her husband Sam of Canton, Georgia. Lisa Howard Morris and her husband Michael of Birmingham, Alabama, nieces Cameron and Claire Morris. Brother Neal Howard and his wife Becki, nephew Kolton Stooksbury, niece Kassady and nephew Beau Verre. Aunt and Uncle Kathy and Sonny Coulter, cousin Sam Coulter and wife Crystal, Jay and Adicia Coulter and their son, Craig, and daughter Caroline Pippins and her husband Dalton, all of Phenix City, Alabama. Cousins Dr. Barbara McCollum and husband Eric, Aunt “Jac Jac” Harvey of Thomasville, Georgia, cousins Palmer and Elle McCollum.
She is also survived by her Mother-in-Law Sybil Walker Inman and her husband Tom. Phillip and Dorothy Walker, Lilla and Charlie Walker of Athens, Georgia. Brett and Jennifer Walker, Grace and Wilson Walker of Columbus, Georgia. She is also survived by her dear friend Angela Payne and her husband Calvin.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 21 at 11am at St. Luke Methodist Church. Visitation will take place at 10am in Stockwell Hall followed by the service. There will be a private family burial at Parkhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Arthritis Foundation or charity of your choice.
