Mary M Lytle

Mary Smith Lytle, age 73, a resident of Columbus, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 after an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Monday, May 23, 2011, 3 p.m. with Reverend Tommy Hart officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 3-5 p.m. Mrs. Lytle, daughter of the late Dimple Lollis Smith and Charlie Gregg Smith, was born April 18, 1938 in Redland, OK. She was a loving caretaker, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Lytle was preceded in death by her husband, James Bert Lytle, daughter Michelle Lytle, and sisters, Sheila and Denise Cherry. She is survived by two sons, Julian "Monty" Lytle (Jan) of Blue Ridge, GA and Bert "Bebo" Lytle of Columbus; grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristina, Juliann, Jeffrey, Kailey, Hunter, and Olivia; brothers, Jr. Cherry, Jim Cherry (Becky), Ronnie Cherry, Randall Cherry, and Doug Cherry; sisters, Alma Woodard, Janie Gray, Debbie Stringer (Calvin), and Janice Smith; brother-in-laws, William Lytle (Marian) and Jack Lytle (Laurie); special cousins, Betty, Norma, and Polly; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Huntington's Disease Research at HDSA, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902,New York, NY 10018.
