Oh my, I went on Baker High's page and saw that Mary had died and it brought back so many memories.  She and I had many years being close neighbors and friends on Morningside Dr.  We use to lie on the ground and look at clouds and describe what animal we saw, we ate Muscadines that grew at her home place, always combing trees and going home when it was dark.  Lots of great memories.  She was always sweet,  I am so sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to Marvin. I will always cherish my teenage years and an introduction to NASCAR that I got to share with both of you and my Daddy. Rest in peace Mary.

Our heart was broken to hear of Ms. Mary's getting her Angel Wings. She was always a blessing to me and my family but especially to mother Lena Myers.  I know mom and Ms. Mary are having a wonderful time on those Streets of Gold.  I would have never imagined their passing would have been so close together. I will always have precious memories of Ms. Mary and her Tuesday Bible Study classes that she continued after the closing of Oates Ave. Baptist. When I came to Oates Avenue Baptist Church Mary & Marvin were some of the sweetest people that welcomed me with open arms.  One year, our Sunday School class decided to have a couple's retreat in Eufala.  Marvin & Mary decided to go with us and oh what fun they brought to all our sessions!  Mary always had a smile on her face & loving arms to give you a hug.  She will be truly missed!  Prayers for Marvin & her family for strength, comfort and peace.

Marvin and Mary were members of our Sunday school class and she was a great substitute teacher for that class. her lessons were always wonderful. she had a smile on her face every Sunday. we will miss seeing her and that wonderful smile

Meme was fun, funny and had a way of making you feel like you mattered even as she was dashing from here to there. We loved her dearly. She was The Matriarch. She had integrity and wild, sneaky streak. I felt like she expressed that side with her stories and her hot, cherry-red Charger. Even in her mid-80s she talked about how guys a fifth of her age would pull up beside her at a light and just not know what to do with all her white-haired glam. She’d leave them in the dust.❣️

Mrs Mary was our first Sunday School teacher when we merged with East Highland. Occasionally,  she would ask me to read a small scripture for the class. A small piece of paper with the book, chapter and verses would accompany her request. I found one of those small pieces of paper this past Sunday. I never told her that I did not relish reading out loud in front of groups. We will treasure our time with Mrs Mary and I will be blessed with a memory of her every time I come across one of those small pieces of paper placed in my Bible.

We are so sadden to learn of Mary pasting. We will not be available to attend services. Mama is currently hospitalized with Covid and I am awaiting test results. We will be with you and the family.in our thoughts and prayers.

Mary was a true saint in every sense of the word. Her love for everyone was so apparent and she was so loved in return. She was my first customer in the beauty salon, and I quickly learned to love her.  She was much more than a customer- she was a true friend. She will be so missed by everyone who knew her.
