Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 1, 2012 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Reverend Larry Biggers will officiate. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tanner was born October 22, 1959 in Columbus, Georgia daughter of the late Joseph Otis Simmons and Ruthie Inez Simmons. She had worked for Meritas Yarns with 7 years of faithful service.
Survivors include her son, Jason Tanner and his wife Courtney, her daughter, Jessica Tanner of Columbus, Georgia, her siblings, Billy Simmons of Harris County, Georgia, Christine Collins of Demorest, Georgia, Harold Dubose of Atlanta, Georgia, Betty Cosby of Harris County, Georgia, Crystal Garren, Judy Gumm and Jay Carver all of Harris County, Georgia, Angelia Waters of Texas and Melanie Tanner of Phenix City, Alabama, 3 grandchildren, Joshua Tanner, Jacob Finley and Emaleigh Tanner all of Columbus, Georgia
