Mary Katherine (Bass) Todd Williams

Mary Katherine (Bass) Williams, 99, of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby with Pastor Marty Wynn officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Mill Room, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA.

Mrs. Williams, daughter to the late Alma I. Batchelor and Alfred J. Todd, Jr., was born December 27, 1916 in Columbus, GA. She was owner of Bass Gulf Service before she retired. After retirement, Mrs. Williams volunteered her time as a Pink Lady at St. Francis Hospital for several years. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and loved her Lord and church. Mrs. Williams loved spending time with her children and family and enjoyed gardening.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George S. Bass, a son Don Bass, grandsons Donald Pippin, Michael Bass and Mike Musselman, great grandson Joey McCall, four sisters and one brother. Survivors include her four loving children, Jeanette Mary Griffith of Columbus, GA., Cecil L. Bass (Pat) of Columbus, GA., Gloria B. Hodge (Randy) of Smiths Station, Al and Larry Bass (Jeanette) of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
