

Miguel “Mike” Wise Jackson, III, age 76, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on March 14, 2026. Born March 19, 1949, in Columbus, GA, he lived a devoted, hard-working life marked by deep commitment to family, community, and the traditions he cherished.
Mike was born and raised in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School, where he met his wife, Kathryn Kibby. He went on to graduate from Auburn University with a degree in Agricultural Science and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He enjoyed an active life as an avid golfer, tennis player, and runner, and he was especially proud to have been a member of the Columbus High School golf team that won the state championship in 1967.
Mike built his career as Purchasing Agent for W.T. Harvey Lumber Company, a family-owned business started by his great grandfather. His steady work and dedication reflected the values he lived by every day.
A committed member of the Columbus community, Mike belonged to the Columbus Country Club, where he served as a board member. He was also a member of the Home Builders Association for over 30 years.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Miguel Wise Jackson, Jr., and Patricia O'Donnell Jackson, a sister, Patricia Jackson Howard and his brother, John Allan Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathryn K. Jackson; two daughters, Carter Jackson Reinhardt (Scott) of Ft. Mill, SC, and Claire Jackson Thomas (Daniel) of Columbus, GA; his grandchildren, Andrew Reinhardt, Jackson Reinhardt, Katie Thomas, and Jacob Thomas, and his sister, Lloyd Pease (Jay).
A celebration of life for Miguel “Mike” Wise Jackson, III will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at St. Paul Methodist Church, with Reverend Dr. P. Shane Green officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. A visitation for family and friends will follow the service.
