Mildred Lucile Roberts, age 88, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 3:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Columbus, GA on July 29, 1922. She was always known for her love of flowers and plants. Mrs. Roberts also enjoyed playing BINGO whenever she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Lily Kelly and a brother, Emmett Kelly, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, B.A. Roberts of Columbus; a daughter, Terry Scarbrough; four grandchildren, Tammy Kokoles (Tommy) of Columbus, Billy Scarbrough of Columbus, Jeff Scarbrough (Lesa) of Columbus and Kelly Hunt (Jimmy) of Fortson; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, June Kelly Cheney of Columbus.
