Millard Toole

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday May 7, 2012 at Britt David Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Jones officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.

Mr. Toole was born May 29, 1925 in Jackson County, FL, son of the late Bruce and Cora Crutchfield Toole. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Personnel Director after 32 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Toole was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Toole.Mr.Toole was a member of Britt David Baptist Church for 56 years. He served as a deacon, Sunday School Director, Training Union Director, and elsewhere as he was needed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Granberry Toole of Columbus, GA; two sons, Ken Toole and his wife, Vicki of Columbus, GA, and Bruce Toole of Columbus, GA; one daughter, Lisa Talley and her husband, Les of Columbus, GA; one sister, Doris Miller of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, Kenny Toole, John Toole, Pat Toole, Courtenay Dykes and her husband, Boo of Columbus, GA, Kelsey LeBel and her husband Gavin of Lynchburg, VA, Karsin Talley of Columbus, GA; three great grandchildren Palmer Dykes, Clay Dykes, and Lorelei Toole.

The family would like to thank the staff of Dialysis Center, St. Francis Hospital, and Columbus Hospice for the care they provided to Mr. Toole and the family.
