
Monette Vanlandingham, age 90, resident of Columbus, died on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, on Sunday, December 9, 2012, 4 p.m. with Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. Interment is scheduled Monday, December 10, 2012, Parkhill Cemetery at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Vanlandingham, daughter of the late Samuel Miller and Carrie Paul Miller, was born August 19, 1922 in Holmes County, FL. She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God and retired from Swift Denim, where she faithfully worked for over 37 years. Mrs. Vanlandingham was preceded in death by her husband James Monroe Vanlandingham and a son, Julian Lamar Vanlandingham. She is survived by two daughters, Deidra V. Christie and her husband James of Honea Path, SC and Brenda Miller of Columbus; one sister, Wynelle Evans and her husband Floyd Sr. of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Michael G. Miller and his wife Elizabeth of Watkinsville, GA, Carrie Christie of Anderson, SC, and Matthew Christie and his wife Sara of Greenville, SC; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Isabel Miller, and Jacob Christie; other relatives and friends.
