Fortson,, Georgia- Nellie Pearl Davis, 88, of Fortson, GA died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler - Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Rev. Gene Forehand, Rev. Dennis Lacy, and Rev. Jerry Sauls will officiate with entombment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, September 22, 2014 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis was born December 31, 1925 in Geneva, Alabama, the daughter of the late George and Sadie Reece. She had lived in Columbus and Fortson for the past sixty five years and retired as a supervisor from Columbus Mills after thirty five years of service.

Mrs. Davis was a member of North Highland Assembly of God Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James Wilmer Davis, Sr.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Blount of Columbus; one son, James Wilmer Davis, Jr. and his wife, Gloria of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Amy Powell and her husband Jim, Beth Hopper and her husband Barth, Todd Hagler, Lisa Cypert and her husband Jim, Jennifer Churchwell and her husband Adam, Chris Davis and his wife Lisa, and Jason Davis and his wife Nichole; twenty two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
