Opal Faye Folkerts

Opal Faye Folkerts, age 91, passed away on December 8, 2016. She was born on June 12, 1925 in Truman, Arkansas to the late Luther and Blanche Haynes. She was a loving wife and dedicated mom who lived life to the fullest and rarely let anything get her down. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville Folkerts, daughter Janice Folkerts David, sister Gladys Wright, brothers Lloyd and James Haynes.

She is survived by her brother William Harold Haynes of Long Beach California, three sons, Ronald Folkerts and his wife Jean of Snellville, Ga., Michael Folkerts of Warner Robins, Ga., and CMSgt (ret) Steven Folkerts and his wife Barbara of Bonaire, Ga; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services are scheduled at Main Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, GA on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, 2 p.m., according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.
