
Pamela D. Grier Purks, 57, passed away on April 30, 2013 in Fayetteville, AR. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Randall Grier and Rev. Scott Grier officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Mrs. Purks was born May 10, 1955 to Rev. Donald and Mrs. Frances Grier in Columbus, Georgia. She loved to decorate and was a volunteer at many hospitals and nursing homes. Pamela enjoyed the outdoors and driving through the countryside. She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Donald Grier and a brother, Keith Grier.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Purks of Anchorage, AK; a daughter, Michelle Johnson and husband, Melvin of Douglasville, GA; a son, Tim Hill of Douglasville, GA; two grandchildren, Macy and Melihya; her mother, Frances Grier of Douglasville, GA; three brothers, Ray Grier of Douglasville, GA, Rev. Randall Grier and wife, Patti of Broken Arrow, OK and Rev. Scott Grier and wife, Cathy of Columbus, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
