

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Brinegar was born on March 20, 1939 in Irvine, Kentucky, son of the late Ray Brinegar and the late Flossie Fike Brinegar. He attended Irvine High School and The University of Eastern Kentucky. He married the late Joanne Hamilton Brinegar in 1967, and they lived in Dayton, Ohio where he worked for Dayton Tire. In 1969, they moved to Columbus, and he founded Ray Brinegar Jr., Builder. He was a dedicated homebuilder for 43 years, and served as a member of the National Association of Homebuilders, the Greater Columbus Georgia Homebuilders Association and the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the Board of Directors of Columbus Bank and Trust Company.
He is survived by his son, Ray Brinegar III and his wife, Laurie of Columbus; his brother Elvin Brinegar and his wife, Janie of Deerfield Beach, FL; his sister Becky Brinegar Dunnavant and her husband, James of Columbus; two granddaughters Carter Elizabeth Brinegar and Brower Ray Brinegar, both of Columbus; and numerous other family members and friends.
