Renee Simonson

Renee Simonson, age 95, resident of Columbus, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Thursday, October 31, 2019, 10 a.m. with Pastor Eric Estes officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Elmo of Striffler-Hamby on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 5-7 p.m.

Mrs. Simonson, daughter of the late Lucien Paul Bouillon and Charlotte Louise Bouillon, was born June 20, 1924 in Charleville, France. She was a homemaker and oldest member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Mrs. Simonson loved knitting, crochet and watching game shows. Her greatest passion was being a foster parent and knitting baby clothing not only for the foster children, but also for other children worldwide.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Simonson was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Simonson; two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Simonson, Christine Plott, Rose Plott and her husband Leonard, and Renee Keefer, all of Columbus; one son, Cecil Anderson of Summerville, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Christian, Stephanie, Stephen, Alicia, Jenna, Joshua, Michael, Jessica, Tyler, Sarah, Jaime, and Celena; thirteen great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Madison, Brian, Joshua, Stephen, Jenny, Joseph, Katelynn, Brendan, Noah, Abbey, Enio, and Mateo; two great-great grandsons, Kannon and Easton; many other relatives and friends.
