

Ricky attended Jordan High School and graduated in 1975. After high school, he became a fabricator, working in that trade for most of his life with steady dedication and pride.
Ricky loved hunting and fishing, spending time with family and friends, and riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers. He was also well known for wearing his leisure suit—consisting of shorts, a shirt, and boots—and for his many trips to North, AL to visit his extended family.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Smallwood; his mother, Helen Williams Pearson; his brother, Mike Smallwood; and his brother-in-law, Robert N. Kidd, Sr.
He is survived by his two sons, Jacob Smallwood (Britni) and Justin Smallwood; his stepson, Michael Paul McGowan; his grandchildren, Jalen Smallwood (Kaleigh), Maddie Smallwood, Camden Smallwood, Peyton Huckaby, and Carson Huckaby, all of Phenix City, AL; his great grandchild, Weston Smallwood of Phenix City, AL; his siblings, Ron Smallwood (Janet) of Columbus, GA, Joyce Smallwood Kidd of Smiths Station, AL, Sam Smallwood of Greensboro, NC, and Chris Smallwood (Linda) of Greensboro, NC; several nieces and nephews; numerous friends; and a special caring neighbor.
Ricky will be laid to rest at Mount Caramel Cemetery, Guntersville, AL.
