Robert James Corey

Graveside funeral services with U.S. Navy Honors will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, September 18, 2023 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Reverend J.W. Norman officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday morning from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Corey was born on February 25, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN, to the late William Robert Corey and Hazel Irene Henderson Corey. He was a longtime resident and was retired from the Medical Center Hospital where he worked as the Hospital Administrator. Mr. Corey was a U.S. Navy Veteran and an active member of Berean Covenant Church in Midland, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Chitwood Corey.

Survivors include his three sons, Robert Mark Corey of Kennesaw, GA, James Scott Corey (Amber) of Midland, GA, Paul Christian Corey (April) of Birmingham, AL, seven grandchildren, Tyler White, Matthew Corey, Will Corey, Mason Corey, Peyton Corey, Cooper Corey, and Davis Corey and one great grandchild, Rowan Corey, siblings, Ken Corey, Dee Dee Corey and Connie Decker.
