Robert R. “Bob” Olson, 57, passed away on November 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Mr. Olson was born to the late Ron and Betty Olson in Lans de Bussac, France on July 7, 1955. He was a Paramedic with East Alabama Medical Center. Bob prided himself on helping others and saving lives. He never met a stranger, no matter where he was. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Olson and a cousin, Barbara Ward.
Survivors include his loving wife, Terri T. Olson of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Lisa Ross and her husband, Mike of Phenix City, AL and Nicole DuBois and her husband, John of Aledo, TX; five grandchildren, Mackenzie DuBois, Blake Whitmer, Jessica DuBois, Emma Whitmer and Hayden Ross; his aunt, Brenda Quinn of Cataula, GA; and a special friend, Sam.
