Robert A. "Bobby" Tillery Sr

Robert A. “Bobby” Tillery, age 61, resident of Columbus, died on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1104 Second Ave, Columbus, on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, 11 a.m. with Reverend Robert Beckum and Reverend (Dr.) Jimmy Elder officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George M. Adams III, George M. Adams IV, Matt Stahl, Walter Stahl, Matt West, and John Moody. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. Mr. Tillery, son of Irvin Allen Tillery, Jr and the late Mildred Ann Price Tillery, was born December 23, 1949 in Columbus. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1968 and later from Georgia Tech where he received his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. Mr. Tillery was previously employed with the Hardaway Company where he served as Vice President for over 25 years. He was currently the Owner of J.A. Long, Inc. Mr.Tillery is survived by his wife, Claire Adams Tillery of Columbus; one daughter, Claire Tillery Prince and her husband David Franklin Prince of Brevard, NC; two sons, Robert Allen Tillery, Jr and his wife Nicole Guy Tillery of Columbus and Andrew Adams Tillery and his wife Jessica Wright Tillery also of Columbus; granddaugters, Cate Prince, Brooke Tillery, Abby Tillery, Franke Prince, and Rachael Tillery; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, Attn: Food Pantry, 1104 2nd Ave., Columbus, GA 31901.
