Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Edgewood Baptist Church with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31917. Reverend David Howle will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 TO 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Grimes was born June 27, 1921 in Columbus, GA son of the late Mr. Grimes and Mary Broxton Grimes. He was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Evans Grimes and his son, Chris Grimes. Mr. Grimes was a CPA with Robinson-Grimes, a graduate of Jordan High School, graduate of Perry Business College and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Ron Grimes of Grayson, GA, grandchildren, Felicia Phillips of Walpole, NH, Tera Barrett of Buckhead, GA, Staci Dye of Loganville, GA, great grandchildren, Halston Barrett, Colt Barrett, Charleston Barrett, Hadli Barrett, Clarke Barrett and Malcolm Dye.
