Rosalia Giovanni Zagarese LaMee, 89, was born on January 1, 1924, in Naples, Italy to the late Pellegrino and Lucia Zagarese, passed on April 2, 2013. She was a 63 year resident of Columbus. She was married to the late Retired Army Master Sergeant Lawrence LaMee for 43 years.
She loved to travel, especially to Italy to visit with her family. She was an avid reader and loved to paint water scenes. Many of her paintings reside in her children’s homes. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and South Columbus Senior Center.
Survivors include her three sons, Robert (Beverly) LaMee of Ellerslie, GA, Donald LaMee and Renee Moon of Midland, GA., Alan (Carol) LaMee of Columbus, GA and, one daughter, Lucia Yates (David) of Hiram, Ga., 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2013 in Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA.
