Rosalind Vanessa Mitchell, age 59, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday August 3, 2018. Rosalind was born January 10, 1959 in Mobile, Alabama. Rosalind was a very strong but simple free spirit. She loved people and travel. As an over the road truck driver she was able enjoy both. When she was home, she enjoyed working in her rose garden, visiting family and playing with her grandchildren. Rosalind had many skills and was a graduate of Troy State. She was an example of strength and courage to her children. She could laugh at herself, always had a positive attitude, was true to herself, and a genuine Free Spirit. What Rosalind enjoyed most was making people smile, with a youthful optimism and outlook on life. She never was a taker in life. She always gave, even if it’s her last. She believed the best in people and tried to love those even though they had shown her otherwise. Her true strength and character came out in full regalia, on the forefront of her final days. She stood in front of aggressive, toxic and life altering medical options and didn't flinch. She accepted every inch of her journey and she never gave up, not even to speak defeat. Her memory will never fade. Her life, her love, her laugh will be with us always.
The family will welcome guests for visitation Saturday, August 11, 2018, 10:00 a.m., at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia, one hour prior to The11:00 a.m. Graveside Celebration of Rosalind’s Life in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd Columbus, Georgia.
