Samuel Audley Vinyard

He was born in Floyd County, GA. on April 19, 1939 to the late, Clinton Walter Vinyard and Maggie Lee Young. Sam worked as a carpenter for St. Francis Hospital and had a strong passion for his family, woodworking and mechanics. Sam was an active member of Grace Baptist Church of Columbus, GA.

Sam was survived by his wife of 40 years, Anita Vinyard; one daughter, Laura Atterbury and her husband Lee of Columbus, GA.; one brother, Walter Vinyard and his wife Kay of Phenix City, AL.; one sister, Patty Childers and her husband James of Rome, GA.; several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David Vinyard; one brother Kent Vinyard; one sister, Joyce McBride.

Visitation service will be held Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby of Columbus. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 1:00 at Grace Baptist Church, followed by Committal service at Parkhill Cemetery, with Pastor Jeremy Rands officiating.
