Sandra Lee Murphy Casey

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 am in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd Columbus, Georgia, with Father Nicholas Mansell officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Columbus, Georgia.

Mrs. Casey was born May 26, 1940 in Alexandria, Virginia, daughter of John T. and Lucy M. Murphy. She moved to Columbus in 1960. She was a homemaker for many years a volunteer Mother and Grandmother at Georgetown Elementary School in Columbus. She was a member of Wesley Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John R. Casey, Sr., her Mother and Father, her sister, Linda Pfeifer, a stepson, Kenneth Cox, and four grandsons: Bradley, Thomas, and Steven Queen, and Eric Patterson; one great-grandson, Casey Rhys Henderson. She is survived by her five children: Fred Patterson (Shannon), Linda Queen (Robert), Toni Grantham (Rick), Anne Smith (Ben), and John Casey, Jr., and her grandson (raised as a son) Alex Henderson; grandchildren: Brandon Wayne, Blake, Brandon, C.J., Amanda (Carl), Samantha, Chris, Rickey, Wesley, Joey, and Heather; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Meghan, Bradley, Adam, Kylee, Mia, Dexter, Nate, and Lana.
